Minimum requirements
- 5 O’Levels/CXC including Mathematics and English
- 2 A’ Levels/ CAPE not including GP
- Insurance qualification and or Industry experience are assets
- Proficient in with MS Word and Excel
Sales Team
Our Sales team is referred to as Financial Advisors. Their roles and responsibilities are to ensure that each of our Clients and prospective Clients, receive quality financial guidance to make informed Life decision. This means having an overarching view of what are the Clients’ needs and what solutions are available, whether they exist within the Group or not and recommend the most appropriate solution. Our Advisors are also referred to as Field Underwriters as they are the eyes and ears for the Group.
Our Team’s mission is to leave each Clients better off after having met a Maritime Advisor. The Career of the Financial Advisor gives him time and financial freedom. He has the opportunity to determine his own income and the time in which to make to it, subject to minimum performance requirements. There are many career paths from Associate to Financial Planner to a career in sales Management. Each of these carries compensation packages commensurate with performance and professional qualifications.

Underwriting
Underwriting refers to evaluating the risk and exposures of potential Clients. They decide how much coverage the Clients should receive, how much they should pay for it, or whether even to accept the risk and insure them. Underwriting involves measuring risk exposure and determining the premium that needs to be charged to insure that risk.
Underwriter:
Performs all functions necessary for complete underwriting and risk assessment of Life and Health applications, as well as in-force policy changes, reinstatements within guidelines set for the issuance of policies on a standard or substandard basis in order to ensure that quality business is placed. These include
- Quality Risk Assessment
- Issuance of accurate Policy Contracts
- Countersigning of Policy Contracts
Policy Administration
Case Management Officer- This TM performs all functions necessary for complete after sales service to new and existing Clients with respect to the management of the Clients’ policies.
These include:
- Policy Expiries
- Additional Deposits
- Alterations
- Policy Statements
- Surrenders
- Updating Plan Rates
- Letters and Correspondence
- Income Tax Certificates
Benefit Administration - Individual and Group Our business revolves around the transferring of risks from individuals and groups to us the insurance company. Our responsibility to our Clients is to ensure we pay all legitimate liabilities on a timely and accurate basis. The Benefit Administrator’s role is to adjudicate and ensure the fair, timely and accurate settlement of all claims on Maritime’s Individual Life and Health policies in accordance with established standards. These include Process Death, Accidental Indemnity Rider, Waiver of Premium, Dread Disease and other policy benefits Ensure that all relevant forms and documents are received and completed correctly and that the policy status is active. Benefits Adjudication Determine benefit payable based on facts presented Make recommendations to Claims Committee for approval. Determine reinsurance recoverable.
Actuarial Science
Actuarial science is the discipline that applies mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in the insurance and finance industries. It includes a number of interrelating subjects, including probability and statistics, finance, and economics. Historically, actuarial science used deterministic models in the construction of tables and premiums.
The Team Members responsibilities include
The valuation of the individual insurance liabilities Performing mortality, lapse and expense studies on a semi-annual basis The creation of a data library with statistics/data in order to perform product review and other actuarial analysis Performing asset/liability and reinsurance modeling reports Maritime General Insurance Company Limited

The timely surveying and reporting on selected risks written by or proposed to the company for example Commercial Fire or Property All Risk Homeowners Risks proposed for burglary cover Risks which suffered losses and so required an assessment review Liability risks where required
Underwriter
The Team Members role is the management and development of a profitable portfolio via the review and acceptance of risks for the various lines of business.
Corporate Account Executive
The Team Member’s role is service and market the Group’s products and services to brokers, agencies, corporate and direct Clients, for renewals and new business.
Benefit Administration
Claims Administrator
This Team member must:
- Negotiate and settle motor claims.
- Negotiate labour figures with garages. Checking with franchise dealers and legitimate parts dealers for prices for new and used parts
- Advise Third parties re: liability issues
- Appoint adjusters/investigators
Claims Adjudicator
Review motor claim reports when submitted to establish liability and initiate pre-subrogation steps Review motor reports and setting up appropriate reserves. Appoint appropriate investigators to investigate and confirm liability in injury /fatality cases. Maintain adequate reserves.
Policy Administration
Underwriting Assistant To ensure that the risks accepted fall within the Company’s specified guidelines, which will impact the loss ratio [i.e., premium income versus claims and expenses paid] Fidelity Finance and Leasing Company
Credit Assessment
The Team member is required to interview, analyze to assess credit risk
Business Development
The Team Member is responsible for increasing business by networking with Corporate Clients for Loans and Deposits To prepare commercial credit applications

Air-condition Technician To provide air conditioning and refrigeration services for all buildings owned/leased by The Maritime Financial Group. Programming routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance Adhering to maintenance schedules and time frames
HSSE Coordinator
Accountable for coordinating the Facilities Maintenance & Management and Occupational Health, Safety, Security & Environmental [HSSE] services for the properties owned or leased by The Group.
